Overview

 

The Groundskeeper will be responsible for maintaining campus grounds by performing general grounds maintenance and landscaping activities. This role seeks an experienced professional with a passion for working outside and a commitment to the environment.

 

Position Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Mow, trim, and edge lawns
  • Maintain athletic fields
  • Use a blower to clean landscaped and parking lot areas
  • Keep grounds clean and free of trash and debris
  • Prune, plant, weed, and fertilize trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns
  • Remove snow with shovels, blowers, and plows
  • Maintain equipment
  • Provide logistical support for campus activities and maintain a campus environment that is safe, clean, and conducive to learning.
  • Assist fire drill, lockdown, and other safety exercises.
  • Assist in managing traffic flow and parking throughout campus. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • 1 year of experience in groundskeepingExperience in CMMS software program(s) 
  • Experience in operating Building Automation/Energy Management SystemsMembership in related professional organization(s) desirable

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Ability to walk for long periods of time around campus 
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Work from ladders
  • Climb stairs
  • Stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Work in an outdoor environment, with exposure to inclement weather and varying temperatures
  • Sit at a desk working on a computer
